Review your mistakes

Find the first step that needs to change, then try again.

Foundation establishes the diagram, signs and calculation. Core practice combines ideas and conditions. Advanced extension adds parameters, stages, limiting cases or calculus. These are selected resources for JEE preparation, not a complete syllabus or an official difficulty classification.

1. My first assumption or diagram

2. What I wrote: the earliest incorrect step

3. Type of mistake: direction, contact condition, friction regime, domain, boundary, algebra, calculus or interpretation

4. Why it happened: what I believed or overlooked

5. A check: a specific counterexample or limiting case

6. My corrected reasoning

7. Try again: a fresh attempt without the solution

Two examples of useful checks

Physics: I used N = mg despite an upward pull. Checking N + Fy = mg exposes the missing vertical component.

Mathematics: I multiplied by x − 2 without checking its sign. Testing one value on each side of 2 reveals why the inequality needs separate intervals.
